On May 2nd I covered Mike Walsh, of Germantown, Maryland on a stop in Pittsburgh to visit a few Vietnam war memorials for the Washington Post. Walsh a retired teacher, is on a mission to visit memorials in all fifty states. His journey can be followed at http://michaelfwalsh.blogspot.com

Dog Fur Used for Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill

Roseanna Carusso,(right) of Carnegie and manager at Pet Salon in Scott Township trims Bella's, 9, fur while Jenneca Bittner of Carnegie inspects Cocoa's, 2, new trim. The fur is being collected and sent to the Gulf of Mexico to help soak up the massive oil spill. Bella is owned by Judy Gastgeb of Bridgeville and Cocoa is owned by Merle Thompson of Beaver County.


Roseanna Carusso, of Carnegie and manager at Pet Salon in Scott Township trims Bella's, 9, fur that will be used to make fur booms and sent to the Gulf of Mexico to help soak up the oil spill. Bella is owned by Judy Gastgeb of Bridgeville.
