5,000 Can Milestone

Dakota Chirdon, 14, of Ross Township has been collecting cans with the Boy Scouts of American for 8 years, every year collecting more than the last. Chirdon carries some donated canned goods from a residence on Balmoral Drive in McCandless as he approaches his 5,000th can.

Chirdon has been collecting cans for 8 years with the Boy Scouts of America and is approaching his 5,000th can milestone.




Dakota Chirdon, 14, of Ross Township describes the size of a generous donation made by a resident of McCandless to his mother Cathleen Chirdon. The two put in countless hours of labor in order to give to the local food banks. Chirdon has been donating his time for the past 8 years and will be collecting his 5,000th can.
